Somewhere

Somewhere
far off
beyond the sand dunes and a ragged
sky-piece
pierced with the last of camel hooves
tired in pursuit of a long
day, the evening in its bridal finery finally lets the day
sleep in her arms.

Somewhere
a sea rages in an impatience of gold and green
of mustard fields
of footfalls
of silence
closing in on
moments again.

Somewhere
somebody lights a candle of dreams in
a back yard of my desire
